Created in 1945, the National School of Administration (Ecole Nationale d’Administration, ENA) provides initial training for high-ranking French and international civil servants.

Every year in Strasbourg, the ENA hosts 80 to 100 French students for initial training, while around 30 international students are also welcomed.

On February 21st, 2014, the French Ambassador in Cameroon, Mrs Christine ROBICHON, hosted the National School of Administration’s Cameroonian Alumni Association (ACEENA) for the signature of a memorandum of understanding with the National School of Administration’s Alumni Association (AAEENA).

Cameroon enjoys one of the most important ENA’s alumni network among sub-Saharan states. Since the creation of the ENA in 1945, more than 108 Cameroonian people have followed the long curriculum while 750 Cameroonian civil servants have benefited from shorter curricula. This institution also created curricula designed for Cameroonian members of Parliament.

Those figures highlight the priority of the French Cooperation to strengthen the Cameroonian public services’ capabilities. For instance, the French Embassy grants scholarships to Cameroonian students who are accepted by the ENA or the IRAs (Regional Administration Institutes).

By joining the AAEENA, Cameroonian ENA alumni are now part of a community composed of more than 5 000 French and 2 000 international alumni.
